Losing Faith/Feeling Hopeless
Everyone loses hope at some point in their life, keep fighting your battle! I have lost faith and hope more times than I can count but I am still standing by the Grace of God.
I put this losing hope tab last on the menu bar because I believe we should have hope first rather than hopelessness.
Whether you believe in Jesus or not, I hope my poetry resonates with you in some way.

Emptiness captivates her
Purpose evades her
Not knowing where she's going
Or how she'll get there
Walked on is the thanks she gets
Seeking for acceptance is her passion
Her worst enemy is herself
The one she cannot escape
No matter where she goes
Her enemy comes along
Battle after battle defeat her
Crying, she hides
No more cares are left
In her mind, no matter how much she tries
She still ends up two steps behind

In the stillness her mind analyzes
In the quietness her thoughts captivate
In the darkest hour tears flow
Recovery from addiction is remarkable
Recovery from addiction is freeing
Recovery from addiction is daunting
Recovery is frightening
As she begins to see her true self
She worries
The scars left by others are devastating
Can she be restored?
The emotions are foreign
Not knowing how to manage them
Fear engulfs her
Where is the line between self-pity and seeking help?
She fears abandonment, again
Valuable, worthy, loving, compassion are her assets
Doubt, worry, sorrow are her imperfections
The flood of emotions is drowning

Climbing, she goes
To the top of the hill
She walks tall and confident
Seeing the peak excites her
Accomplishment awaits
Happily, she smiles seeing the world below her
Making it was the goal
Feeling the rich nourishment of success is the reward
Tumbling she falls
Hitting her head on jagged rocks
Confusion suffocates her
Not knowing what happened
As she lies in pain,
legs sprawled out
She looks up towards the peak where she once stood
Life stood on the hill, chuckling
Knowing full well Life had kicked her down
She embraces the pain
Accepts the challenge
Tears pour from her big brown eyes
She gets back on her feet
Walking, she continues
Climbing that hill again
Every climb defeats her as she falls
Looking back at the peak knowing she should have known better
Each time she uses a new tactic
Hoping for a change on the next try
Years pass her
Occasionally getting past that hill
Only to find another one
Climbing and falling seem to be the story of her life
She's tired, beaten, abused
She waves a white flag
Surrendering, she builds a home
At mountains edge
No more climbing she says
She lies her head
She will live in her newfound home for the rest of her days

She's there,
Sitting quietly
Showing her strength
Hiding her true feelings
Crying on the inside
The river inside tries to take over
As the sunshine rises
She smiles, taking in the warmth
Like a warm blanket,
Covering her soft skin
Her smile is genuine
She loves life
Yet, she feels lonely
Unheard
Overlooked
The river rushes through her
The waves crashing into her
Slowly dripping from those big, gorgeous eyes
She wipes it away
Staying strong
When the rainbow shines bright
She sees her breakthrough
Keep pushing she tells herself
Gracefully she picks herself up
Dusts her knees
Running,
She went for her breakthrough moment

Fleeting moments pass by
Joy, contentment, laughter
Sorrow, grief, anger, pain
Tossed around like Autumn leaves on a breezy day
Cool one moment, warm the next
Confusion stifles her
Headaches paralyze her
Caution ploys with her
Exhaustion overwhelms
Familiarity is non-existent
All is foreign now
Honesty is freeing
In exchange she is vulnerable
Is she too damaged and needy for true love
Helplessness overtakes
Is this what growth looks like?
Frustrated by the inability to discern at her age
Angry at herself,
How could she be a victim for so long
Moving on seems so distant
Progress is apparent
Slowly she finds her way
Why is she not able to get there faster
Will she ever make it?

The Train Called Life ©

People say she is strong
They tell her so
They find inspiration in her words
Each lingering detail flowing from that mind of hers
When asked if she feels strong
Her answer may surprise you
She is real and honest
Tension and stress weigh her down
She chuckled,
No, absolutely not
People think I'm strong,
Why?
Because I got to my next stop?
They didn't see the tears
That broken spirit
All that negativity
The sorrow, sadness and self-loathing
Is it strength if I cried all the way there?
Is it strength if it took me years to arrive?
Is it strength if I arrived beaten down, torn apart and tired?
Is it strength if I find my power after I arrive?
If that's strength,
Then yes, I suppose I am strong
Not because I thought I would make it
Not because I wanted to go
Not because I love life so much
I'm strong because I must be
Life goes on with or without you
Why not hop on the train called life?
Go for a joy ride
Whether it's day or night
Let the wind blow in your hair
On that train
Called Life

Talk about it,
They say
Don't bottle it up,
They say
Don't dwell on it,
They say
Rely on God,
They say
Push through,
They say
Stay positive,
They say
They say they care
They say they are there
They say they will listen
They are nowhere to be found
